These powder does not oxidize when exposed to sunlight and gives a protective coating to increase the color fastness of the condensed tannins. It gives better light fastness. It can be used in EI tanned Leather for better yield. These are used in boiler water treatment compound and a mud thinning agent in oil drilling.
