10-undecen-1-ol is used in synthesis of many flavours and fragrances such as fresh, floral (rose), and citrus.
It is used to produce β-cyclodextrin undecenyl ether which is used to reduce cholesterol from milk.
It reacts with carbon monoxide in the presence of dicobalt octacarbonyl and pyridine as a base to produce polyesters which are biodegradable and are suitable for the production of films, fibres and mouldings.
Undecylenic Alcohol is reacted with mercaptoethanol for the synthesis of thermoplastic polyesters.
