Peroxide stabilizers are added to regulate the perhydroxyl ions to prevent rapid decomposition of bleach bath and fiber damage. These may act by 1) Buffering action 2 ) Sequestering of heavy transition metal ions & 3) Complexing with perhydroxy ions dispersing action. There are 2 type of Per oxide Stabilisers TYPE 1: This a powder form concentrated organic peroxide stabilizer for combined scouring and bleaching as well as peroxide bleaching of cotton and polyester/ cellulosic blends by exhaust as well as continuous process. This is having preferential chelating action on iron and hence prevents catalytic damage and pin hole marks in cotton. This is silicate free and magnesium free and does not lead to any deposits on substrate or machine General Characteristics : - 1) Physical appearance : Off white to white powder ; 2 ) Ionic nature : Anionic ; 3) pH of 1% solution: 6 +/- 1 ; 4) Miscibility :Soluble in water ; 5) Stability : Stable to dilute acids, alkali, peroxide particularly concentrations used in dosing on CBR ; 6) Compatibility : Compatible with anionic and nonionic products Type 2 This is an economical organic peroxide stabiliser for exhaust as well as a continuation application of hydrogen peroxide bleaching of cotton and cellulosic blends. Apart from good peroxide stabilising action this also chelates certain extent iron present either in the fibre or in the water. This is also suitable for high-temperature bleaching and high temperature combined scouring and bleaching of cotton & cellulosic blends. General Characteristics :- 1) Physical appearance : Dark brown liquid ; 2) Ionic nature: Anionic ; 3) pH of 1% solution : 4 +/- 1 ; 4) Miscibility : Miscible with water ; 5) Stability : Stable to dilute acids & dilute alkalies ; 6) Compatibility : Compatible with anionic and nonionic products
