The residual peroxide present in the fiber will oxidize the reactive dyes, a chromophore that contains the metal ions and leads to tonal variation and sometimes uneven dyeing. In some cases, the chromophore itself is getting destroyed into a colorless product and lead to pale or white patchy dyeing. Hence the removal of residual peroxide is very much essential before starting a good dyeing operation. A chemical that kills the residual peroxide in the fibre is termed as a peroxide killer. BRIJ Peroxy-ALK is an enzyme-based peroxide scavenger to remove residual peroxide at the end of bleaching or before reactive dyeing. The presence of peroxide during reactive dyeing can lead to variation in shade, therefore it is important to eliminate residual peroxide before reactive dyeing for consistent dyeings. General Characteristics : - 1) Physical appearance : Greenish Yellow Liquid ; 2) Ionic nature : Nonionic ; 3) pH of 1% solution : 6 +/- 1 ; 4) Miscibility : Miscible with water in all proportion. ; 5) Stability : Stable to dilute acids and dilute alkalies ; 6) Compatibility : Compatible with anionic, cationic and nonionic products Application BRIJ Peroxy-ALK 0.4-0.6 g/l For peroxide In elimination 2nd bath after bleaching, drain & adjust pH: 6-7 and add Peroxy-ALK temp: 70 deg.C, time: 15-20 min. Combined peroxide & biopolishing In second bath after bleaching, drain & adjust pH 5-6 and add Proxy-ALK, temp. 50-55 deg.C. Time 15-20 min. and continue bio-polishing or drying in the same bath.
